Academics - High School ProgramDLC Student

The DLC High School program offers both standard and college preparatory degree plans. 

We provide an 8 to 1 student/teacher ratio as well as one-on-one instruction in math and foreign language.  The curriculum is tailored to all students including the learning-differenced and the accelerated student.

Program Details

High School Curriculum:   Individualized, standard and college preparatory high school curriculum through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Independent Study High School.
Programs:
  Two high school diploma programs available: Standard and College Prep.
Courses:
  Full curriculum including electives, structured to be completed in one semester.
Acceleration:
  Accelerated programs and programs to make up credit deficiencies available.
Enrichment Curriculum:


  Studio art, digital photography, history in the making, electronics, music learning band, optional physical education, yearbook, team building field trips, daily study halls, community service field trips, and home-school athletic leagues.
Grading System Used:   Numerical (e.g., A = 90 to 100)
Homework Policy:
  Homework varies from no homework to maximum one hour per night.
Conferences Per Year:
  At the request of parent or administration; open house twice per year.
Tests Administered:
  Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT) available upon request.  Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) mandatory for graduating seniors.  
School Hours:   9:15 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Thursday; 9:15 am to 1:45 pm Friday
Lunch:   Bring sack lunch, microwave ovens available.  Vending machines on site.
Dress Code:   Casual (see policy manual for specifics). No uniforms.
Computers:   Laptops available for student use.
